History of Schistosoma

More then 243,000 people in 78 different countries have schistosoma, and is responsible for 400,000 deaths each year. The earliest records of schistosoma can be dated back all the way to the 19000 B.C in the Ebers Papyrus. the eggs of the schistosoma could also be found in the mummys kidneys over 300 years old.It wasnt until 1851 until a scientist named Theadore Bilharz came up with the solution that it was Schistosoma that was the urinary problem in acient egypt. in 1904 a Scientist name Katsurada found a different type of Schistosoma, along with Sambon in 1907, Fisher in 1937, and scientists Voge, Bruckner, and Bruce in 1978. Today there are 18 different types of Schistoma, with S.haematobium, S.Japonicum, and S.Mansoni being the deadliest of them all. Schistosoma can be found anywhere in the world, with Africa and around there being the most high risk due to urine and feces going into the lakes and ponds.
